Compact for America Educational Foundation, as a Houston-based national organization, wishes to bring your attention to the heroism and individual initiative that is characterizing the response to Hurricane Harvey, as well as the need for charity to lift up the victims of the Hurricane (in many cases literally).
If there were ever a morally obligatory time for charity, whether you root your conception of morality in religion, human nature, a commitment to a flourishing life and community, or any or all of the above, it is in response to a natural disaster like this.
